It’s chilly outside and the winter months are among us, it’s time for some warm indoor fun!
Artuta’s online Winter Session is starting soon, it is a six-week course designed to teach the foundations of creativity in visual arts and beyond for kids aged 4–6, 7–9, and 10–12. Students will develop their imagination—and artistic practice—using a variety of materials, techniques and interdisciplinary approaches. This Winter, we have a whole new set of fun classes this Winter.
For students ages 4-6, it’s all about landscapes—drawing, painting, paper cut-out, real and imaginary! Students will develop their drawing skills by incorporating imaginary creatures into landscapes, learn watercolor techniques and explore the special characteristics of the medium by building real and/or imagined spaces, and learn how to apply a combination of foundational paper cutting, collage, and beyond.
For our 7–9s, we’re stepping up our observation skills through a series of perspective drawing and painting classes before switching gears to a DIY holiday card. Students will learn how to draw real or imagined perspective landscapes, learn and practice a special paper cutting technique, create sound message cards, and work with watercolor techniques in perspective landscapes.
Our oldest students will spend the entire course developing their 2D animation techniques, incorporating various drawing and painting techniques and including a group drawing activity.
Students will be practicing fundamental 2D animation skills by creating flip books, combining paper cut-out and collage techniques to drawing, creating GIF animations, learning how to apply watercolor techniques to create landscapes, and experimenting with photography and cropping, as well as exploring the elements that create moving images.
2022 Winter Session begins December 4th, 2022 to January 22, 2023. Artuta classes are capped at five students, in the spirit of cultivating engagement and interactivity. Register now to reserve your seat for an exciting Winter Session!
